There is an issue in this community with misstagged fics on AO3, specifically in the FxF tags. I don't know if it's going to reach the actual people or not but I'm still going to put this here:
A lot of MxM and FxM are tagging FxF ships in the main relationship category despite the ship itself only being written in the background.
Which is a problem because when you go into your ship tag to find fics of your ship, a ridiculous amount of them are off topic. And while yes you can lower that amount significantly by filtering and tag exclusion, AO3 has a built in feature that is made to avoid this.
I am going to use the Shadowzel tag for that because it's the most popular FxF ship on there and it's also one of the most misstagged rn. As of right now, there is 607 fics in the Shadowzel tag without filter. If you restrict the search to only include FxF, you are down to 397 fics. That is more than a third gone!
And it gets rid of some shadowzel content as well, so it's either you filter that out or you have to scroll through a tag where 1 out of 3 fics are about Astarion, Gale, Halsin, etc instead of the ship you looked up.
If your fic, let's take for example a Tav x Astarion, has either consistent mention of Shadowheart x Lae'zel, the most popular wlw ship, or has them in the background as support characters, or even just mentions them as a funny little wink and you want to make sure your readers know they are in here, you do not use the relationship tag! You go down to the additional tags and add "Minor Lae'zel/Shadowheart (Baldur's Gate)".
Unless the pairing you are tagging is the main focus or have a significant role and spotlight on them, you should not use the relationship tag! It clogs the feed for no reason, AO3 is not a website where you have to advertise your posts to the most tags possible.
Adding a visual for clarity:

i've been a manager at my job for almost a year now and i've dealt with dozens of pissed off customers and been confronted countless times and i feel like i handle most interactions as well as i can given the circumstances but one thing that still sticks with me is these people a few months ago. it was two parents with their like 4 year old kid and their server gave them two regular menus and a kids menu to order from. if your kid orders an entree from the kids menu they can get a scoop of ice cream for 99¢ but they Must get the entree to get the 99 cent scoop, otherwise the scoop is reg price. now personally ill often just charge the 99 cents even if they didn't get the kids entree, especially if we've already sold a lot of food to them, bcuz im not a cop, but the 16 year old server charged a reg price scoop for the little kid because the ice cream was literally all she got and that's what he was trained to do and it's The Rules so like he did everything he was supposed to. MIND YOU the kids menu CLEARLY says at the very top that the single scoop dessert is 99 cents ONLY WITH purchase of entree. okay. its not a secret its right there its there for you to read. okay. well the server comes to me and says hey my table is really upset about their bill and they want to talk to you. i go over and these people are IRATE they're like WHY IS HER SCOOP OF ICE CREAM 3.99 and their table is pre-bussed so there are no context clues about what food was eaten so im like, did she get a meal? and they say no she did not get a meal she just got the KIDS SCOOP OF ICE CREAM. and im like ok. back up. there is no "kids scoop of ice cream" there is a scoop of ice cream that children can get for 99 cents if they also order a kids entree. woman says WELL OUR SERVER DIDNT TELL US THAT. i'm like Well Im Sorry but servers aren't trained to tell you how much shit costs because we expect our customers to be able to readdddd the menu. i didn't say that obviously but i pointed at the kids menu on their table that THEY ordered from and was like Well Ma'am the menu explains the pricing of ice cream right here at the top. she goes WELL we didn't read that. can you take the ice cream off our bill?? and i kinda just look at her and im like. did your kid eat the ice cream? and she says Yeah. and i'm like then obviously no i cannot tske it off your bill. she freaks the fuck out and her husband is like pointing his finger in my face and shit and then when that's all said and done they pay and write some dumbass comment on their signed receipt about how much the shift manager sucks. Guys.

The True History of the Origin of Archaeology
Have you ever wondered about the origin of archaeology? Did you find an adequate answer to it? Or are you still seeking a satisfying answer? Or do you wonder whether what you read was the truth? Well, you will find all of the answers and clear all of your doubts about the origin of archaeology. Take 4 minutes and read! A simple and factual article is ahead.
Introduction to the history of archaeology
Archaeology's history is not a single straight line on a timeline. It does not have a specific time of origin. Hence, it has not developed from a point in time to the present day. There have been multiple points in the past that caused its emergence. If the discipline we refer to as Archaeology today is a tree, the subfields of archaeology are the branches grown out of the trunk, and the history of archaeology is the root system that spreads into the earth below the trunk.
Hence, the origin of archaeology is not a single phenomenon. The origin of archaeology was a chain of phenomena, a process. It is a gradually emerging field of interest.
According to the nature of the chain of events, there are four phases in the history of archaeology.
The background era of archaeology
Archaeology in the Renaissance era
Archaeology in the 19th century AD
Archaeology in the 20th century AD
The Background Era of Archaeology
The background era of archaeology is marked by the age when mankind was curious about the past. Their curiosity was shown in two ways. One is that they wondered what they would find in their surroundings that existed even before they were born. The other was the undying desire to know their own histories.
The curiosity and enthusiasm about the monuments and other physical remains they found that seemed to be left from the past led them to discover those things. They created legends and tales around those material remains, connecting them to the people who lived in the past. And, as those stories became popular and passed from generation to generation, they wanted to examine if the legends were true.
Accordingly, the king Nabonidus in Babylonia excavated a site and discovered monuments. He assigned them to the people who lived before the babies. That marked the first ever recorded incident of excavating to reveal the past and interpreting the uncovered items.
So, during this background era, there was no such thing as archaeology. But the thinking and the passion behind archaeology were gradually rising.

Archaeology in the Renaissance Era
The Renaissance era was the first age when the term archaeology came into use. So, obviously, this is the first era of the history of archaeology as far as the term archaeology is concerned. But as mentioned earlier, there was a background era too. During this era, enthusiasm for the material things left from the past rose rapidly. So, the word antiquity came in to name those ancient items. People, especially the elites, showed interest in antiquity and started collecting it as much as possible. They considered the antiquities to be art. They looted everything they found valuable as art and displayed it in cabinets to show their elegance. That is called antiquarianism. This antiquarianism undermined the idea of a past related to those material remains.
Then, as time passed, antiquarian societies were established. They brought back enthusiasm for studying the past through antiques. And soon people understood that looting caused damage to the antiquities. So they invented new ways to unearth them. And they continued displaying them in cabinets.
Accordingly, the desire for the past and the desire for material remains that come from the past developed in this era. and the practise of digging the earth to recover the antiques came into practise, as did the methods to do so.

Archaeology in the 19th Century
In the 19th century, archaeology developed into a scientific discipline on the foundation laid by the Renaissance. During the Renaissance, the sciences began to expand, unlike before. That continued until the 19th century and even today. With this background, archaeology was also sophisticated as a field of study. Additionally, the rise of other fields also had an enormous impact on archaeology's evolution in the 19th century. Those evolutions took place due to the following factors:
the development of geology as a discipline
the emergence of studies of human evolution
the emergence of prehistoric archaeology
the priority in studies for ancient civilizations
the consequences of antiquarianism
The development of systematic chronology in archaeology
the contribution of Pitt Rivers, Flinders Petrie, and Mortimer Wheeler

Archaeology in the 20th Century
In the 20th century, archaeology marked a new chapter in its evolutionary development. As said earlier, it emerged as a scientific discipline in the 19th century. Here, its vast development took place in three phases.
the time before 1960,
the time of New Archaeology after 1960 till 1980,
the time of Post-processual Archaeology after 1980.
During the time before the 1960s, it was almost a continuation of what happened in the last century. Additionally, the use of technology has extensively developed archaeology as a science in practical ways, such as the use of electronics and chemical dating methods. Later periods were more likely to deal with theoretical improvements.
The time period between 1960 to 1980 marked a revolutionary progress in archaeology. These two decades were about the theoretical evolution of archaeology. Instead of explaining the story behind antiquities, archaeologists started to explain the cultural processes of past human history. It is called new archaeology. Simply put, their purpose in studying archaeology was to find explanations for what happened and why it happened in human culture in the past. Studying the past human culture through material remains marked the emergence of the first version of the archaeology we have today. Additionally, the archaeologically important material remains was started to be considered as heritage and in that case, archaeological heritage management was born.
During the 1980s, new archaeology was criticised. In new archaeology was also called processual archaeology as the cultural process was studied. Here, in the 1980s, another new version of archaeology was developed as post-processual archaeology. Instead of studying the past human cultural process and interpreting everything happened in human culture as resulted from environmental factors, scholars began to consider the cognition of past humans. They started to reveal the intelligence behind human activities and behaviour. And also, they emphasised that the past is not a pattern but a collection of various occurrences. Occurrences that happened at various times and in various places individually.

Conclusion
Archaeology, the field of study as we know it today, did not originate at a specific point in time. It has gradually emerged in the history of time, as a field of interest, then a field of study, then a scientific discipline.

Jason comes back from the dead and, as he's still a bit out of it, heads to the manor.
Crawling straight up through six feet of compacted earth is hard, especially after waking up suddenly in a coffin, so after he makes it inside, he sits down to rest on the couch.
And immediately falls asleep.
Hours later, Bruce returns home to find Jason's body, covered in dirt, dug up from the grave and left on his couch.

listen there really was just something about how in the book, snow’s 3-page descent from hesitant lover boy to deluded mfer happens entirely in his mind. lucy gray gives him no indication whatsoever that she suspects him, that she’s going to leave or betray him. he’s just sitting quietly in the cabin waiting for her to return when that seed of calculated suspicion, which he has needed to survive the capitol, takes a hold of him and chokes the life out of any goodness left inside him. it really drives home your terror as a reader that “oh my god did he kill her? did she escape? what happened to her? why would he even think that?” in a way that when the movie had to adjust for visualization it lost some of that holy shit this guy has lost it emphasis.
#seeing some discourse and im not saying lucy grey didnt know#im saying she never dropped the kind of hints that she knew like she did in the movie#or if she did snow isnt worried about them until he very suddenly is consumed by them#snow is not concerned about whether or not she believed him. of course she did! hes snow!#but then shes gone…. for a while……#and its the sudden immediate drastic unravelling that comes across so clearly in the book#that i knew wouldn’t translate to screen yet still cant help but miss#the hunger games#coriolanus snow#tbosas#lucy gray baird#not a crime or anything just a note that i cannot stop thinking about#the ballad of songbirds and snakes#this is all from memory of reading it quite a while ago. so maybe 3 pages is an exaggeration#but i remember it happening VERY quickly and without much external cause#like we as the reader have no indication as to whether shes nearby or not.#snow has no idea either. he just SUSPECTS. and his suspicion breeds the hatred that has been bubbling inside him all this time#he hates how she undoes him. he hates that he WOULD run away with her if shed let him keep his secrets#and he HATES more than anything that she makes him WANT to tell his secrets#he wants to be vulnerable and reveal the ugly nasty parts about himself and still be loved#but he does not let himself and it is everyone’s downfall#he chooses cruelty bc it is easy and familiar and makes him feel more powerful than the vulnerable give and take that real love requires

people who say it's difficult to get into comics are weak and won't survive the winter. you pick a random comic, google "read online free" and then you read a hundred issues of a run you'll like well enough but realize really sucks like two years later.

What happened in archaeology during the 20th century? - Part 1
The 20th century marked the fourth phase of the history of archaeology. It was indeed a century of theoretical reforms in archaeology. In other words, the archaeology we know today first emerged in this era.
1. Introduction to Archaeology in the 20th Century
As previously said, archaeology began as a scientific subject at the end of the nineteenth century. It advanced as a scientific field in the twentieth century. So, the practice of archaeology as we know it began in the twentieth century. As previously noted, several theories in archaeology were introduced, evaluated, and practiced beginning in the nineteenth century.
Therefore, unlike in the Renaissance era, archaeology in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries was about changes in theories. In the view of scholars, the modifications were more significant than the findings.
In other words, prior to the nineteenth century, archaeology was more concerned with "what antiquities we discovered." Then, after the nineteenth century, it was more about "how to find antiquities." Then, after the twentieth century, it was more about "why we find antiquities" and "what we do with found antiquities". As a result of those modifications, the timeline of archaeology in the 20th century can be divided into three sections, such as:
the period before 1960,
the period of New Archaeology after 1960 till 1980,
the period of post-processual archaeology after 1980.
Each of these has unique characteristics and a backstory. Studying them can help you understand the evolution of archaeology throughout history. As a result, you may have a better understanding of what archaeology is. Furthermore, studying this period in archaeology's history will help you understand archaeological thought or archaeological theory.
For clarity and ease of understanding, we'll only skim over these three time spans. Because there are many complex things to simplify, I aim to examine the final two periods mentioned in the preceding list in separate pieces.
So, this article will provide you with some insight about each of these periods. However, after reading this article, you will have a thorough understanding of 20th-century archaeology. Finally, by the conclusion of it, you will have a thorough comprehension of archaeology as well as its history.
What Happened in Archaeology Before 1960?
Prior to 1960, archaeology was an extension of the same archaeology that existed in the nineteenth century. As is clear, beginning in the early nineteenth century, there were modifications and advancements in every subject of study. Archaeology emerged from what was already present. And it evolved with the enormous impact other fields had on it. And this happened to both theories and practices. So, how can we answer the question, "What happened in archaeology before 1960?" Well, to do that, we need to look into several historical events and trends in the world. In addition, we must investigate numerous aspects of archaeology. You may explore all of these events, trends, and characteristics by using the list below:
extensive use of multidisciplinary approach
impact of warfare on archaeology
extensive use of technology
emergence of underwater archaeology
introduction of new chronological dating methods
the discoveries for evidences of oldest human ancestors
We can look into each of these to see how and why they shaped archaeology's history.
1. The Extensive Use of Multidisciplinary Approach in Archaeology
As previously said, by the end of the nineteenth century, not just archaeology but also many other fields of study had evolved into scientific sciences. Also, during that time period, those scientific fields interacted with one another. That is, when one discovery or new idea in one subject broadens the general understanding of something, it benefits other disciplines.
As an example, consider geology and archaeology, which were discussed in the preceding article. Archaeology profited from the introduction of stratification in geology by geologists. Archaeologists used geology's notion of stratification to undertake archaeological studies from then on. In other words, archaeologists approach their research from multiple perspectives. Therefore, it was multi-disciplinary. And this continued and became a thing in every discipline before 1960 in the twentieth century.
In this multidisciplinary approach, archaeologists thought about the theories and methods developed in other disciplines to conduct studies. This increased the accuracy, scientific rigour, and scope of archaeological studies. As an example, we can discuss how chemistry aids in the determination of absolute dates for artefacts. There will be no carbon dates, thermoluminescence dates, or potassium-argon dates if chemistry does not exist. You can now see how the multidisciplinary approach has shaped archaeology.
2. The Impact of Warfare on Archaeology
We humans developed advanced technology as a result of the World Wars. Radar, sonar, and aerial photography were all developed by war engineers and scientists. They also provided new planning, mapping, drawing, recording, and measuring equipment and processes. Most significantly, the war produced some people who knew how to use this new technology, equipment, and tactics.
All of these war products had a significant impact on archaeology, improving its accuracy and broadening its scope. Radar, sonar, and aerial photography all played important roles in archaeological explorations. Techniques and instruments for planning, mapping, and so on improved the accuracy of archaeological explorations and excavations. And the research is led by military experts who are familiar with this technology and tactics. Overall, all of these contributed to the advancement and globalisation of archaeology.
3. The Extensive Use of Technology in Archaeology
In the twentieth century, archaeologists began to use technology. As previously said, warfare played a significant role in this. In this regard, archaeology had evolved into a field that required more technological applications. We were no longer studying antiquities in this field. It had evolved into a discipline that studies challenging themes like human evolution. As a result, modern technologies had a chance to get a place in archaeology.
Accordingly, the widespread use of technology has resulted in advancements in certain areas of archaeology, such as data collection and analysis. Archaeologists carried out archaeological explorations using aerial photography. As a result, they were able to easily discover archaeological sites. They were able to recognise gigantic structures and patterns on the ground that they had previously overlooked.
Furthermore, electricity had a significant impact on archaeology. It increased the effectiveness and efficiency of archaeological exploration. Therefore, archaeologists were able to locate materials hidden in the earth without having to do excavations. As a result, archaeologists could decrease the destruction that generally occurs during excavations. Archaeologists could also take advantage of the saved time and energy.
4. Emergence of Underwater Archaeology
As you may be aware, colonisation surged during the Renaissance and the centuries that followed. And all colonialists in Africa, South Asia, and Latin America returned to their home nations with rare raw materials, antiques, and irreplaceable artefacts. Hundreds of those shipments, as you may have heard, perished on the sea over the decades. Exploring shipwrecks and searching for lost treasures thus became an exciting line of labour beginning in the Renaissance period. Further, adventurous individuals wanted to explore the legendary underwater cities. The adventure of uncovering treasures at sea evolved into a field containing all of these objectives and practices. This pushed archaeologists to be more adventurous. As a result, maritime archaeology evolved prior to 1960 in the twentieth century, enabling access to systematic and scientific underwater explorations.
5. Introduction of New Chronological Dating Methods
As previously stated, the advancement of natural sciences such as chemistry had a significant impact on the advancement of dating methods in archaeology. As a result, scientists developed new chronological dating methods such as dendrochronology, C14 dating, potassium-argon dating, thermoluminescence dating, and so on. As a result, archaeologists began to have more precise absolute dates for their findings. Furthermore, they began to receive dates for antiques for which they had never previously received exact dates. Willard Libby's discovery of the carbon-14 molecule during this time period was a crucial turning point in archaeological dating methodologies. With better and more exact dates, archaeologists could interpret their discoveries like never before.
6. Discovery of the Evidence for the Oldest Human Ancestors
The discovery of evidence for the oldest human ancestor was one of the most significant events that occurred prior to 1960. In Tanzania's Olduwai Gorge, researchers discovered human bone remains alongside stone tools. They dated the bones and used the dates to find the ancestors who lived there. Accordingly, the stone tools discovered and the bones discovered alongside them date back to around 2 million years ago. That is the earliest evidence of human predecessors utilising stone tools. This event promoted prehistoric archaeological research.
As you can see, the twentieth century, before 1960, was more concentrated on creating archaeological methods. In other words, this time period ushered in advancements in “how we practically do things in archaeology with the use of new technology and knowledge”.
to be continued...
